Rules to be Broken

One of the golden rules of writing a blog - whatever you write - is to post an entry everyday, at least.

Me, I have been naughty. This is my first entry since Christmas Eve.

Well I think I can be excused. There has been too much happening over the last six days - Food, drink, merriment, sale shopping and getting ready to go on holiday at the weekend.

Yep I am off to sunnier climes on Saturday, though only for a week. I will be back in time for the Man Utd v Chelsea game on Sunday 11th January.

Great holiday planning don't you think?

What has been happening recently?

The REAL Latics won at Crewe 3-0 and drew at home to Carlisle over Christmas, Chelsea won and drew and 'ickle' Stevie Gerrard GOT NICKED and CHARGED for affray and assault.

Oh Happy Days!!

Deja Vu or Nearly?!?!

About this time last year I went to the works do at a local hotel and low and behold my mates beloved Latics were staying in the same hotel as the party was being held in.

They were in 'town to play Millwall at The New Den on Saturday afternoon.

Cough cough Oldham won 2-0 (I think).

Anyway my works held the same Christmas party do this Friday gone and this time League One's Crewe Alexandra were staying in the same hotel - and guess who they were playing?

Yep Millwall. Millwall flying at the top of League One and Crewe down at the bottom.

Result 0-0

Just thought I would mention it. Also have to mention that a lot of the Crewe boys went off to Bluewater for a bit of shopping and got back between 9.30pm and 10.00pm on the eve of a match!!

Promise I wasn't spying really. Just ask the footlocker boys and girls.

Marlon King - Who Is He?

Travels down from Hull to London after their game last Saturday, gets in a club and gets done for assaulting a female.

£13,000 per week average Joe footballer thinks he can do what he likes.

I am big and bold and a professional footballer, yeah so what - you spent 4 hours getting to London. Wanna badge or a medal?

Where did you end up? In a cell for the night!!

A Close Call

Sneaky pics from Chelsea v Cluj (pre-match), Tuesday night in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

Monday 8 December 2008

£30m or BUST!!!

Any other result than a win will see Chelsea crash out of the Champions League group stage for the first time in six years of Chelsea competing in the competition.

Only on one other occasion have Chelsea failed to reach the semi-final of the Champions League and tomorrow night's game against Cluj at Stamford Bridge could see Chelsea finish third in Group A and have to play UEFA Cup football.

Will Cluj put the bite into Chelsea and cost Chelsea up to £30m in lost Champions League revenue by doing so?

Oh Dear David

This howler from David James ended Portsmouth's UEFA Cup journey against Wolfsburg in Germany last night.

Burnley 3-0 London

So Burnley, riding high in the Championship, put Arsenal to the sword in the Carling Cup tonight at Turf Moor, beating Arsenal 2-0.

Gone before the Turf 'Moorers,' were Fulham and Chelsea.

Anybody wanna back against them reaching the Carling Cup final?

In the second of the four quarter-finals this evening, Derby beat Stoke 1-0 with a really late late penalty - 95th minute to be precise.

Steven Gerrard - The Best Midfielder in England?

From tonight's game at Anfield versus West Ham which ended 0-0, Gerrard expressed the desire to change his boots to Nike Air.

Check it out and have a chuckle

I know I did when I saw it.
