So Much for Money Citeh's Millions and Millions and Millions.....

They lost in South Africa this afternoon 2-0 to Orlando Pirates.

HA HA HA

A Bad Day at the Office

Stoke City sent out two sides yesterday for friendlies against non-league opposition.

Stoke lost at Nantwich Town, 2-0 and at Newcastle Town, 2-1.

Hardly ideal preparation for their second season in the Premiership.

Friendly Internationals

Always makes me laugh, no sooner does the Premiership season kick-off, we have a plethera of midweek International 'Friendlies.'

Personally I would prefer the 2nd game of the Premiership season on a Wednesday night... especially after Chelsea's superb performance against Portsmouth last Sunday.

So for your delight here is a complete list of 'friendlies' taking place throughout the World this Wednesday evening:

England v Czech Republic (8.00pm)

Wales v Georgia (8.05pm)

Norway v Rep of Ireland (6.00pm)

Scotland v Northern Ireland (8.00pm)

Denmark v Spain (7.15pm)

Germany v Belgium (8.oopm)

Sweden v France (8.00pm)

Switzerland v Cyprus (6.45pm)

Ukraine v Poland (5.00pm)

Russia v Poland (6.15pm)

Italy v Austria (7.45pm)

Turkey v Chile (7.00pm)

Portugal v Faroe Islands (8.45pm)

Romania v Latvia (6.45pm)

Slovakia v Greece (7.15pm)

Slovenia v Croatia (7.45pm)

Bosnia v Bulgaria (7.15pm)

Belarus v Argentina (6.00pm)

Finland v Israel (5.00pm)

A lot of these games are to prepare for the 2010 World Cup which will be held in South Africa and if you think tonight is bad without Premiership action, wait for ten days or so when the Premiership shuts down for two weeks.

Oh what to do, what to do??????

All times stated are UK and ANY updates on scores and scores and final results, will appear in the comments section.

Calm Down, Calm Down

If I am honest I have had a real s**t time recently.

For the last two weeks work has been THE major concern in my life - everything else including 'my small indulgence' on the internet (this blog) has suffered and my LOVE LIFE too!!! LOL.

From today I hope that I will be here again each and every day especially as the start of the football season gets closer and closer.

Today, there are loads and loads of pre-season friendlies being played involving Man Utd, Arsenal and the like plus Aston Villa start their quest for European glory in the Intertoto Cup 3rd Round 1st Leg away to OB of Denmark.

Deportivo of Spain and Stuttgart of Germany also join the third round fray. Good luck to Villa.

Talking of Villa.

This morning on the radio there was a young lady ringing in to announce that one of her bridesmaid's (one of six) dresses didn't fit. She explained that last week the final fittings for the dresses had taken place and that every thing was fine, except that one dress had to have the shoulder straps cut down. So last night (Friday) dress and bridesmaid were reunited and disaster - instead of the shoulder straps being altered - the dress had been reduced by two dress sizes.

On the eve of this poor girl's wedding one of her bridesmaid's dresses now doesn't fit. The presenters of the radio show took delight in suggesting that the dress hadn't been reduced in size but the bridesmaid had put on a lot of weight in a week so the dress wouldn't fit.

Why am I mentioning this? Well it seems the theme of this young bride's wedding is all about Aston Villa Football Club.

The colour scheme is based on Aston Villa's club colours, Claret and Blue.

Results from today's action will be found in the comments section.
